Till about a year ago this college was on the second spot for the most expensive colleges in the world, but with an annual cost of almost USD 53,150 it is now at the top of the list of most expensive universities in the world. The total cost of attendance mentioned includes an insurance fee of about USD 1870 but does not account for costs of travel and miscellaneous expenses.

George Washington University
One of the most expensive universities in the world, the annual fees for a student at the George Washington University is about USD 53,000 annually. This includes the cost for tuition, books, rooming, boarding and other expenses. It is also one of the most generous schools when it comes to financial aid with the average aid a student receives being about USD 22,500.

Kenyon College
If you are just taking into account tuition and fees, then Kenyon College tops the list with an estimated tuition fee of USD 46,830. But it helps out students in the fact that as many as seventy percent of the students who attend Kenyon receive some or the other form of financial aid and twenty four percent of the students at the college are on academic scholarships.

Vassar College
Vassar is often the college for the rich and the famous to attend. With an annual fee of almost USD 49,250, it is no wonder that it is. One of the best things about studying at the university is, it offers you a payment plan that allows you to pay the tuition fee, interest free, over a ten month period.

Colgate University
This liberal arts college that is located in New York charges it students an annual fee of USD 39,545 for tuition. Since it also makes it compulsory for first year students to stay on campus in the first year, it charges them an extra USD 9625 for rooming and board. It gives its students an aid package and grant funding.

Columbia University
While the tuition and fees at Columbia may not be as expensive as some of the other colleges on the list, situated in New York makes living there an added expense. The average cost of attendance if you are student at Columbia is USD 51,886. The average aid package according to the university is about USD 30,000.

St. John’s College
With two campuses and a very distinct curriculum, the college is one of the most expensive universities in the world with an annual fee of USD 49,513. This is inclusive of the tuition fee, boarding, books, and personal expenses. The average aid package at the university is around USD 26,000 every year and as many as sixty five percent students receive assistance of some sort.

Wesleyan University
It may be last on the list of the world’s most expensive universities but it is by no means cheap with an annual tuition fee of about USD 38,900. It also charges a residential fee which is about USD 11, 000 but like Carnegie Mellon provides students with a payment plan of interest free repayment over ten months.

While the top ten of the most expensive universities of the world are based in the United States, there are other universities around the world that are also exorbitant to study at. This include the Franklin College at Switzerland, American University of Paris, Imperial College London, National University of Singapore, and the University of Melbourne. 1. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
